Students from campus radio & television stations around the country attended the three-day conference, held every fall in a different city.
The Pack Takes San Antonio
NOVEMBER 2017- Station Manager Renee Jackson attended the College Braodcasters, Inc. (CBI) National Student Electronic Media Convention (NSEMC) in San Antonio, TX. The NSEMC is the only convention in America dedicated exclusively to the interests of student TV/video outlets, radio stations, webcasters, and convergent media. The convention took place over November 2-4 at the Hyatt Regency hotel in San Antonio.
Over the weekend, Renee attended seminars and speakers on the topics of internet streaming legality, building a successful radio team at a small college, and how to build relationships between students, community, and faculty. These seminars were led by industry professionals, CBI professors, ans well as attorneys and media students. As the convention came to a close, Keynote Speaker Roger Lindley addressed the 400+ students on how to be creative on a budget while creating a quality product.
The Pack station manager Renee Jackson had an excellent time in San Antonio, learning about the radio industry and experiencing the city. She heard from many broadcasting professionals as well as students from large universities and colleges smaller than Wesleyan.
The 2018 CBI NSEMC will be held in Seattle, WA from October 25-27, and Renee hopes to attend again.
